Well, I had to do a poem about where I come from and I got a 95% on it. I should have gotten 100%. The reason I got an 95% was because my teacher wasn't clear in his directions. But, I'm still happy with my poem, so here it is:
                                                                               I come from...
I come from the taste of rice and peas and sugar cookies
                                               after I clean my plate.
I come from a family of four
                             where creativity and education rule.
I'm from the smell of frankincense,
in my home where Obama oversees our daily activities.
I'm from the sound of televisions and
the sound of Michael Jackson's
Blame it on the Boogie .
I am from the grandson of a Tuskegee Airman
and the granddaughter of the first
black woman to get her drivers license in Delaware.
I come from being free to fide my bike and feeling safe
when I hear the doors beep in my house.
I come from jumping jacks and situps
and tongue twisters like "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers!"
I come from hoping that when people hear my name
they'll always know I'm going to use my BRAIN!
